Hello peeps.
As you can see I've been making some changes to my website... including a new blog!!!! Thanks to Grant for helping his computer-illiterate girlfriend!
So I've had quite a few people over the last couple of days ask me this question: "Why are your Australia and New Zealand pictures set to private?" No, it is not because I had such a wild and crazy time I have to keep the pictures secret... although I will have to edit some out because I did manage to capture people getting sneaky dabs on film. The reason for my secrecy is because I have SO many pictures that it is taking me a while to upload them, and I don't want to reveal them until they are all up! Also, I am trying to reduce the file size of each one because taking thousands of pix on the highest quality on a 8 megapixel camera will really take up a lot of space! So with that said, the quality of the pictures on the site may not be that great, some even a little pixely... but if anyone I traveled with would like me to send them any pictures with the original quality just let me know! I have posted up here my favorite picture from the trip. It is a sunset taken in Haast New Zealand when we were heading to the beach to roast some scumfadoozas over the campfire! I just got this one blown up today and some guy who does watercolor paintings wants to paint it. Sweet-as!ANYWAY... can u believe it is 2006? Holy crap! Grant Sparky & I spent New Years Ev
e together... started the party at Cam & Janine's place and then headed to Grant's friend Morgan's place in Richmond. That was pretty fun... until I just saw white... but that's another story. It's great bringing in the New Years with good friends! The next morning we had our annual breakfast at ABC and then headed down to the Polar Bear swim where Jacquie, Christin, & her sister Carol were brave enough to participate in!This past week has been pretty entertaining as well. Grant and I played squash the other day. HAHA. That game is so fun. Grant tries to teach me that it's all in the wrist and I don't have to wind up and hit the ball. Apparently I don't follow directions very well... he said I looked like a mad-woman chopping down bushes... he said "I should give you a machete and put you in the rainforest." Audrey compared it to when 50 random people jumped into freezing cold water and started frantically swimming towards dolphins. GTs. Oh ya, I forgot I learned on New Years that the things I think are funny are not funny to anybody else so ignore this last paragraph. :P
Friday night I crashed the Hilton's Christmas party... well George was my date, but he hadn't showered in 5 days so I didn't get too close. We had a great dinner and I was very happy when Darcy won the trip to Vegas... he deserved it more than anybody! The theme this year was Vegas so they had fake money and all sorts of tables... blackjack, poker etc. Sylvain and I tried to win the dance competition again this year but I kept my shoes on this time probably not a good idea because when he tried to spin me I slipped and bailed! haha... then because we are the Hilton crew we headed over to the dew and shut that place down as usual. I gotta admit I miss working with everyone there... we always had such great fun together!Saturday night we headed down to Roosters for Luke & Amish's bday. WHAT A GONG SHOW that was! haha. I drove and we followed their big ass limo the whole way. I really had no idea how I was going to find my way home! We arrived super early but avoided the line, and got to watch the end of the Canucks game. Most of us felt a little bit out of place, but Luke fit in quite well with his HUGE
belt buckle ("can you take it all in?"), cowboy hat (that he ended up losing somewhere along the way) and Old Navy plaid button up shirt (which he proudly cut the sleeves off himself)! It didn't take long before the shirt was un-buttoned (it happens every year) and he was dancing up a storm. Amish seemed to hold it together quite nicely, but I think that shot of tequila that Audrey bought him put him over the edge because by the end of the night he was throwing water on everyone! It was nice to see everyone... some people I hadn't seen in a while... including Courtney and Danielle. I'm not a huge fan of country myself... but I did manage to recognize a few songs I liked that were fun to dance to. Then Audrey and I requested our favorite country song and when it came on we danced and sang at the top of our lungs in honor of our STRAY friends... that's right folks "She thinks my tractor's sexy!" Good times! By the time we left 3 of my friends (I won't name names) had been kicked out and were puking by the curb! Thankfully, Eileen and Trevor caught a ride home with me... & Trevor gave me directions or else I never would have found my way back to Richmond! In other news Remember August plays this Friday Jan 13th at South Arm Community Center, so come check them out.
It is sure to be an excellent show as always and it may be their last one for a while. Which leads me to my next topic of news... Grant is moving to Melbourne, Australia next month. He was accepted to do his Masters at the University of Melbourne and he will spend the next 18 months there. He has asked me to join him there, and the offer has been very tempting as it was my favorite city in Australia. He found out the news while I was away so I've been thinking about it for a while now. Although I'm sure I will join him there at some point there are a lot of decisions I have to make before the details can be drawn out.Anyway let me know what you think of the new site! Grant also has a brand new site,
grantmckenzie.com. There is a link to it on the right!
